Talk:Macron

Note to self: Fatḥah wāw sukūn (aw°) and fatḥah yā’ sukūn (ay°) are /aw, aj/. Ḍammah wāw (uw) and kasrah yā’ (iy) are /uː, iː/. These can carry sukūn, and are pronunced the same, but no idea about how they are transcribed in ISO 233. There is also a uw̄ and iȳ, standing for ḍammah wāv (this seems to be incorrect) and kasrah yā’ shaddah. No idea about how these are pronunced. The pronunciations of uw̄ and iȳ need to be added to this article, and aw° and ay° need to be added to an article about the degree sign.
Long consonants are marked with macron, but it is unclear which consonants can be long. These too need to be added to this article.
