Đaxi is one of the languages belonging to Axi language family. It stems directly from Dʰakʰi, the family proto-language. It has an alphabetical script.
Typological structure
Đaxi is a morphologically agglutinative language, with an exclusive tendency to morpheme prefixation.
The basic word order is essentially SOV (Subject-Object-Verb).
noβa ɣemu mɑɣɑkuska (the) person sees (the) cow
Some typological parameters are set according to the modifier-head (or head-final) type:
- verb - object
- adjective - noun
- noun - relative clause
Other typological parameters are set according to the head-modifier (or head-initial) type:
