Verbs are marked for tense, aspect, mood, subject, object...

The three simple tenses are used: past, present, and future. Present tense is not marked, and future tense is often left unmarked if other modifiers are present that might hint at the action having yet to occur.

tense

  • ur - future (need not be marked)

  • ar - past
nékeshra - You spoke.
  • a - present (need not be marked)
ógera - I/we eat.

aspect

  • as - progressive; continuing [PROG]
  • at - previously; already [PFV]

mood

  • esh - negative
wágeresh - He/She does not eat.
  • em - question
néshohemra - Did you see?
  • ap - able to; can; possible
óganapa - I/we are able to go.
  • ush - need to
ógerush - I/we need to eat.
  • ad - probably, likely
  • in - tentative
ówakeshin - I/we may speak to her/them.
  • ub - conditional "if"
  • aw - irrealis "if I had"

intensity

  • ih - augmentative
ógerhi - I/we eat a lot.
  • ey - diminutive
ógerye - I/we eat a little.
