Ordinals, Fractions, Multiples, etc.

Numbers preceding nouns are cardinal numbers which indicate quantity:

  • tam mujat e yon jenat = three men and four women.

Ordinals are marked with the suffix -(e)ha.

  • al muj tameha, the third man ("the man three")
  • first -- uaha

It is acceptable when using an ordinal without a noun to use numra before the number:

  • ilha numra tam, he is number three, he is the third.

Fractions are constructed with -(m)i.

  • nimi, tami, yonmi,... dai, sadi, hezrai, etc.
  • unit -- uaheya
  • whole -- kamil

Multiple units are formed with -ma.

  • nima, tama, yonma,...
  • alone -- nur(a)
  • simple -- tanju

For multiple occasions, use ehed:

  • once -- ua ehed
  • twice -- ni ehed, etc.

Addition is expressed with zedek, to add:

  • ua zedi ua ilha ni.

Subtraction is expressed with nahasek, to subtract:

  • ca nahasi tam ilha tam.

Multiplication is expressed with ehedek, to multiply:

  • ni ehedi tam ilha ca.

Division is expressed with kalek, to divide:

  • ota kali ni mita ilha yon.
