This is a naming language that is intended to be spoken by elves in a fictional setting.

Pronunciation

Vowels:

aa (long): as in father

a (short): as in dark

e: as in the Welsh; as in where

i: as in the "y" sound in why

o: as in born

u: as in luck


Dipthongs:

ai: pronounced the same as the Welsh "ai" in the word eye.

ais: pronounced the same as the French "ea" in the word bread (but longer).

au: pronounced the same as the German "au" in the word restaurant.

eu: pronounced the same as the Welsh "eu" in the "ay" sound in say.


Consonants:

b: as in bed.

c: a soft sound, as in the Welsh "c" in the word can.

d: as in death, or as the "th" sound in the word "the".

f: as in fun (unvoiced), or as in fire (voiced).

g: a soft sound, as in the French "g" in the word as in sabotage.

h: (silent).

j: as in the "y" sound in your.

k: as in the "c" sound in the word can.

l: as in lie.

m: as in man.

n: as in nun.

p: as in pale.

q: as in quick.

r: as in the French r in Paris.

s: as in sun.

t: as in toast.

v: as in vet.

w: as in water.

x: as in exit.

y: as in yes.

z: as in the German "z"; like the "ts" sound in the word "pots."
