Cad'inor is one of the classical languages of Almea, the language of the ancient Cadhinorian Empire. It can be compared to Latin in several respects:
- It was the language of a great empire.
- It is the common ancestor of several modern languages, most notably Verdurian.
- It functions as a scholarly and religious language.
- It is typologically similar to Latin.
