Hey there!
History as a conworlder and conlanger
I can't really remember the inception of my interest in the arts of conworlding and conlanging, but I think it was a natural evolution from my interest in history that stemmed from watching (very much not historically accurate) historical television series back when I was in 5th grade. Back in 5th or 6th grade, two cartoons were wildly popular, Adventure Time and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, both of took place in very unique fantasy worlds, that being The Land of Ooo and The Kingdom of Equestria respectively. As a kid, I was incredibly invested in these fantasy worlds...they were high fantasy...for kids (although Ooo would later be revealed to be a more science-fantasy setting, same with Equestria to a lesser extent). All throughout my teenage years, I would obsessively read about the history of the worlds in other cartoons and anime like Dragon Ball Z, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Transformers and later stuff like Marvel comics and Harry Potter. In my early years I decided to combine my then-passion for game devleop and world building to try t create a massive world, so big that...it crumbled almost instantly. Oh well, live and learn!
Around this time, I got really into linguistics too. I bought and read through as much books as I could throughout high school and tried to develop a language for a world at the time called Gahlish but it never really went anywhere.
Current world building projects
- Amenia: A high-fantasy world with strong science-fantasy vibes. Intended to be an uplifting series revolving around whimsical adventures and strange geography.
- Languages of Amenia: The linguistics of the world, mostly Armello and Hammik.
