- As she turned from gazing after him, her feeling of warmth and security was disturbed by a sudden chill.
- She wondered since the sun still had a distance to go before disappearing behind the steppe
- and his warmth still filled the air.
- When she turned toward the youths who were running after the horses ever farther from the village,
- she saw the reason for the chill.

- and wielded a long whip with which he controlled the team.

- and quickly and strongly, yet not without tenderness, lifted into the battle car by the warrior.

- As the whip cracked over the horses she called out to her mother
- as the team veered away from the melee and headed toward the land of moonset.
