Realm of the Tarakasane

The Realm of the Tarakasane (Itarakoske: Aknaina ne-i-Tarakasane, or simply i-Aknaina "The Realm") is am umbrella term used to define the areas where the Tarakasane generally reside. This designation also carries great political weight in the general thinking of the Tarakasane, since their conception of which lands belong to the Tarakasane is tightly linked to the lands over which their political system and empire should hold sway.

A naturally nebulous term, given the ever changing cultural identification of the Tarakasane themselves, it can be interpreted narrowly or broadly. As the former it tends to refer to the "Ancestral Realms" (Aknainane Hebastya), the lands around and between the two great rivers Meidorien and Insarien. Wider definitions would include lands farther to the north, all the way to the lakes that feed the Atgama river; to the northeast all the way to the Surmugas Mountains; to the south all the way to the sea; and to the west along the northern edge of the Pansurte Mountains.
