Midgard RPG is a German tabletop role-playing game, first released in 1981 and still very popular in German-speaking countries. The game was originally set in Magira, the world of FOLLOW, an association of fantasy strategy gamers of which the game authors, Elsa and Jürgen Franke, were members; later, this connection was severed due to licensing problems and a new (but similar) world, simply called Midgard, was created instead. The game can also used with other game worlds. The standard Midgard RPG world is an EDO world with cultures similar to those of medieval Earth. Compared with Aventuria, which is based on the Late Middle Ages, the Midgard world is more archaic in feel.
