Agroic languages

Agroic is a name suggested by Jörg Rhiemeier for a hypothetical group of languages in Neolithic Europe. This would be the family spread through the immigration of Neolithic farmers. The name is derived from Greek agroikos 'farmer'. The group consists of two hypothetical families which may or may not be related to each other: Danubian north of the Alps (associated with the Starčevo-Körös, Vinča and Linearbandkeramik cultures) and Thalassic in the Mediterranean (associated with the Cardial and Impresso cultures).
The last surviving Agroic language probably is Basque, which may be the last surviving Thalassic language.
