Enlisted

Enlisted soldiers and non-commissioned officers rise through a series of five ranks, namely: Soldato (Ecipor, or Marinor), Caporal de Lansa (or Lansor), Caporal, Sarjento, Mestre Sarjento. The lowest rank's title is based on service branch. That is, a soldato serves in the land forces, a marinor is a "sailor" or "marine" and an ecipor is a "crewman" usually assigned to an air crew.

La Xef

There is also a special position: called Sarjento Xef (or simply Xef), a-1 in the image. This position is appointed and is usually filled by a Sarjento or Mestre Sarjento.
