The Numeral System
- The Senjecan numeral system is vigesimal, i.e., based on the number 20. Each number, from 1 to 20, has its own name. From there the number is named based on the number 20, ẋűr. To make a multiple of 20, a number is placed before ẋűr, e.g. 40, d̬ő ẋur, two twenties. To make an addition to 20, a number is placed after ẋűr, e.g. 43, d̬o ẋűr tir, two twenties and a three. Each number is treated as a whole so that the accent will change leaving the primary accent on the next to last syllable.
- 100 and its multiples are exceptions. These numbers are treated as collective nouns and so take an -s in the plural. But when followed by a number the form minus the -o is used, with lenition when appropriate. Thus,
