World of Light

The World of Light is a con-universe created by Cheyne Anderson.

Astrography

The World of Light universe has a spherical curvature. At two antipodal points on the sphere reside the Light and the Darkness. In between exist millions of stars, planets and other such astronomical features. All matter is created by the light and expelled in every direction, usually extremely hot until given the chance to cool. Nearly all matter created by the Light is eventually swallowed up by the Darkness. That which, by some small chance, misses the Darkness usually continues to wander throughout the universe any number of times before eventually coming back around and falling into the Darkness.

The Light

The Light can be considered the center of the universe in the World of Light. This is, in fact, where the name comes from as the Light creates everything that exists within its universe. The Light is visible from all points in the universe but at a distance appears as nothing more than a particularly bright star. Close up, the Light is intense and chaotic. It's many times brighter and bigger than any star and appears pure white (if one could look at it from a close distance without being blinded by the intensity). It constantly emits energy, usually in the form of actual light, and in the form of matter. The Light is an unending source of energy and will never deplete itself. The Light can also emit Light energy which is capable of creating massive amounts of energy, but unlike the Light itself, will eventually be depleted.

The Darkness

The Darkness resides antipodal to the Light, as far away as possible in the universe from it. All lines drawn straight from the Light will eventually lead to the Darkness (as stated above, the universe has a spherical topography). The Darkness is approximately the same size as the light and performs the exact opposite function, consuming any and every thing that enters it, even light. Because of this, its surface appears completely black like the event horizon of a black hole. The Darkness is less chaotic than the Ligh and, if it could be seen against the black universe, would appear nearly spherical; however, there would be enough distortion to easily deduce that it is not a perfect sphere. One would also be able to see that the surface slowly churns like some sort of enormous ocean. Dark energy also exists must can only be extracted with the use of magic.

Nicaera

Nicaera is the name of a super-continent on a planet orbiting a star in the World of Light universe. The planet itself is, as of yet, unnamed. For more information, see the article on Nicaera.
