• 1. And.it.was in.the.days.of the.judging.of the.judges that.was a.famine in.the.land; and.went a.man from.Beth lehem Judah to.live in.the.fields.of Moab, he and.his.wife and.two his.sons.
• 2. And.the.name.of the.man Elimelech, and.the.name.of his.wife Naomi, and.the.name.of two his.sons Mahlon and.Chilion, Ephrathites from.Beth lehem Judah. And.they.came to.the.fields.of-Moab and.stayed there.
• 3. And.died Elimelech husband.of Naomi and.she.was.left she and.two her.sons
• 4. And.they.took to.themselves wives women.of.Moab the.name.of the.one Orpah and.the.name.of the.second Ruth; and.they.lived there about.ten years.
• 5. And.they.died also-both.of.them Mahlon and.Chilion, and.was.bereaved the.woman two.of her.children and.of.her.husband.
• 6. And.she.arose, she and.her.daughters-in-law, and.returned from.the.fields.of Moab for she.had.heard in.the.fields.of Moab that- had.visited JHWH his.people to.give food to.them.

• 10. And.they.said to.her No-with.you we.will.return to.your.people.
• 11. And.said.Naomi turn.back my.daughters; why should.you.go with.me? Are.yet-to.me sons in.my.belly that.they.should.be for.you husbands?
• 12. Return, my daughters, go; for I.am.too.old to.be to.a.husband. If I.should.say There.is-for.me hope, even I.should.be tonight to.a.husband and.even I.should.bear sons
