Literal translation of the Hebrew text
- 4. And.they.moved from.Hor Mount the.way.of Sea of.Reeds, to.go.around the.land.of Edom.
- 5. And.was.impatient the.soul.of the.people because.of the.way. And spoke the.people against.God and.against.Moses. "Why you.have.brought.us out.of.Egypt to.die in.the.wilderness for no bread and.no water; and.our.soul hates this.bread light.
- 6. And.sent Jhwh among.the.people serpents fiery; and.they.bit the.people and.died people many of.Israel.
- 7. And.came.in the.people to.Moses and.said, "We.have sinned, for we.have.spoken against. Jhwh and.against you. Pray to.Jhwh and.he.will.turn from.us the.serpent."
- 8. And.prayed Moses for the.people. And.spoke Jhwh to.Moses, "Make yourself a.fiery and.set it on.a.pole; and.it.shall.be when.anyone.is.bitten and.he.sees it, he.shall.live.
- 9. And.made Moses a.serpent.of copper and.put.it on.a.pole; and.it.was if.had.bitten a.serpent any.man, and.he.looked to.the.serpent.of copper, he.lived.
