Consonants
14 consonants, including t,k,b,d,s,χ,ɬ,ʀ,l,m,n,ŋ
At least one uvular continuant and one lateral obstruent.
No voicing contrast in fricatives.
No glottalized consonants, clicks, double—articulated stops, pharyngeals or dental fricatives.
Vowels

Closing diphthongs occur with either high or mid vowels as the last element.
Suprasegmentals
Primary stress falls on the second syllable, and secondary stress follows an iambic pattern.
Vowel length is contrastive
Neither tone nor nasalization contrast.
Phonotactics
Syllable structure is moderately complex. The maximal syllable is either CVC, CCV, or CCVC
ŋ may occur initially.
