You'll have noticed my position has changed since our old discussions in ZBB, because now I know more about Paleo-IE, mainly (but not exclusively) thanks to Villar's last book. Now I regard European Vasco-Caucasian speakers as being agropastoralists rather than farmers and in Europe mostly confined to the Mediterranean area. | |||
I also think the monolythic model of IE has contaminated Nostratic, resulting in a dramatical collapse of layers where Wanderwörter are mistaken by inherited lexicon and so on. [[User:Talskubilos|Talskubilos]] 07:50, 15 September 2012 (PDT) |

- Hi,
- I've reduced your ban. In the future you are welcome to work on your own ideas here, but please do not continue the Europic discussion with Jörg. —Muke Tever | ✎ 06:41, 31 July 2012 (PDT)
Vasco-Caucasian
I have created a page on Vasco-Caucasian languages, but it doesn't say much yet. Feel free to add to it. --WeepingElf 07:52, 12 September 2012 (PDT)
Thanks. Just to be fair, I changed "many linguists" by "Jörg Rhiemeier" ;-) Talskubilos 01:32, 14 September 2012 (PDT)
This is not what I can leave standing. I am by far not the only one who considers it unwarranted. Most linguists think that the evidence is insufficient. It is people like you who are in the minority position. --WeepingElf 08:05, 14 September 2012 (PDT)
Actually, most historical linguists have no position about Vasco-Caucasian because it's outside their own speciality (either IE or something else). Nostratic has more supporters than VC, but they're still a minority, so I think "many" would be more appropriate. Talskubilos 06:08, 15 September 2012 (PDT)
