Marc Okrand (born 1948; pronounced /ˈmɑrk ˈoʊkrænd/) is an American linguist and is most notable as the creator of the Klingon language. He also designed the Atlantean language featured in the 2001 Disney film Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and was consultant for the 2009 Star Trek film on Vulcan and Romulan languages. His professional interest is in Native American languages.
