Transhumanism is a movement which aims at the change of the human condition by means of technology, such as genetic engineering, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and cybernetic enhancements. As such technologies are not yet available, the practical aim of contemporary transhumanists is to create a political and cultural climate that is conducive to the development of such technologies.
Transhumanism is often critcized as standing in the tradition of eugenics and "racial hygiene", and denying the fundamental human rights by seeking to destroy racial equality in the human species.
