Rolemaster is a fantasy role-playing game published by Iron Crown Enterprises in 1980. The game is considered one of the most complex simulationist games and can be used with various game worlds. Shadow World is ICE's official game world for Rolemaster, but products for MERP (see below) can also be used with Rolemaster.
There are several games derived from Rolemaster:
- Middle-earth Role-Playing (MERP), a somewhat simplified version set in Middle-earth.
- High Adventure Role-Playing (HARP), a different somewhat simplified version.
- Space Master, a space opera game.
- CyberSpace, a cyberpunk game.
