- The tloko script is logosyllabic combining about X logograms (which represent whole words) and 150 syllabograms (which represent syllables). About 300 glyphs were commonly used.

- Many syllables can be represented by more than one glyph
- The script is usually written vertical columns reading from top to bottom and then left to right.
Featural Syllabary
- The basic consonant glyphs were directly inspired by Hangul.
