A more conservativ subfamily of East Altaic', spoken in NW Himalayas.

- ɜ → ʌ
- loss of contrastiv labialization in uvulars
- prenasalization drops
- ɢ → ʁ → ∅, h
- β → v
- labialized velars → labial-velars
- æ ɑ merge
- fricativ voicing intervocally
- ʂ ʐ → x r
