The Commonwealth of the Elves (Old Albic Samvarda Ela Albela) was the political body that united the Elves prior to the Tartessian War. According to tradition, it was established in the year 671 BC.
The Commonwealth consisted of twelve tribes (cvendi), each of which was subdivided into twelve 'shiphoods' (ciphrili). Each ciphrela elected a representative into the 'High Table' (Theleca Tara), the legislature of the Commonwealth, which thus consisted of 144 members.
