Introductory notes

  1. In writing Senjecas with the tengwar, a modified full writing of the mode of Beleriand is used. The R-rule is not observed.


Consonants (tengwar)

  1. The four Quenya témar (series) are known in Senjecas as űkos (clans).
    1. The tincotéma (dental).
    2. The parmatéma (labial).
    3. The calmatéma (palatal).
    4. The quessetéma (velars).
  2. However, the Senjecan űkos are ordered according to the points of articulation.
    1. peműko (labial).
    2. riisűko (dental).
    3. muitűko (alveolar).
    4. vainűko (palatal).
  3. The quessetéma (labiovelar) tengwar are reassigned as alveolars.
  4. The six Quenya tyeller (grades) are known in Senjecas as zı̋nos (forms). There are three zı̋nos, each with a voiced and a voiceless member.
    1. stops.
    2. fricatives.
    3. sonorants.
  5. The first table illustrates the tengwar and their sounds. If there are two phonemes given, the first is used in Quenya, the second in Sindarin.

Notes

  1. The tincotéma and the parmatéma are reversed so that the labials precede the dentals.
  2. The calmatéma and the quessetéma are reversed so that the alveolars precede the palatals.
  3. The quessetéma is assigned to the alveolars.
  4. Vala is assigned the value /m̥/.
  5. Quesse and ungwe are assigned the values /ʦ/ and /ʣ/ respectively.
  6. The voiceless tyeller (6) are ordered before the voiced (5).
