It is a [[Hesperic]] language of the [[Alpianic]] branch, spoken in a few homesteads in the uppermost Kander valley in Switzerland, [[League of Lost Languages]]. The language has its name from the river, which is '''Xandẑa''' (< Proto-Alpianic ''*Kxantra'') in Xandžo. Xandžo, while phonologically innovative, especially regarding the consonants, is morphologically conservative, preserving all inflectional categories of [[Proto-Alpianic]].
